The account of Peter and Cornelius has been called the gentile pentecost. It is the moment the gospel first goes to the gentiles. From this point forward the church is changed as the Jesus movement continues to become a global and multi-ethnic reality. Cornelius and his family were not the only ones transformed by the gospel. Peter himself was changed, overcoming a strong prejudice towards gentiles. The beauty and challenge of this passage has much to say to us today.
