What is loyalty? Why does it matter? In a consumer driven, throw-away culture it seems that loyalty is a lost and dying art. In the book of Ruth we are introduced to a uniquely biblical idea summed up in the Hebrew word Hesed. Hesed is a mix of loyalty and love and most often attributed to God, but also applies to people. This kind of loyal love is exemplified most strongly by Ruth's commitment to Naomi. This sermon examines the Hesed love of God as well as how this kind of love should be a signature mark of God's people today.
