Everyone is hungry to love and be loved. Because of this we put a lot of pressure on other's to meet our deepest needs for love. This often leads to disappointment and distortions of even the best human relationships. The story of Jacob, Leah, and Rachel, is one of those kinds of love stories. It is filled with pain, heartache, and unmet expectations. It is a story of people trying to find wholeness in one another but falling terribly short. What is the hope for our love-starved world? The world suggests that we can somehow find our wholeness if we just find the right person. The bible offers a different and more comprehensive answer.
