What does it mean to be an influential person?  How do we really have a lasting influence in this world?  This week Jesus tells his disciples that they will have a world-wide impact by calling them the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world."  What does this mean?  How does it compare to the kind of influence we are often seeking today?  How does what comes before this passages inform it's meaning?  The Christian community is called to change the world, how Jesus expects that to happen may come as a surprise.
